Question of the Day

When nobody knows what to ask

  • A first date, and the conversation keeps circling back to work and the weather. The pause gets longer and you both study the menu.
  • You have been together for years and most talks are about logistics: who buys what and who picks up the kids. It feels like you know everything about each other. You don't.
  • Friends come over and the evening drifts into everyone scrolling their phones. You want a real conversation, but nobody knows how to start one.
  • There is a list of "36 questions" somewhere in your notes, but pulling it out mid-dinner feels awkward, and nothing comes to mind when you need it.

The question on the screen does the work

Party mode: pass the phone

Add 2 to 12 players and pick a deck. The phone goes around the circle, each answer gets a timer of 30, 60 or 90 seconds (or none), and if you skip or run out of time you get a silly dare: sing, act it out, make everyone laugh. At the end you see who was the most honest.

14 decks, 420 questions

Getting to Know, First Date, Long-Term Love, Friends, Parents & Kids, Work, Negotiation, Road Trip, Year in Review, Me in 5 Years, Tarot, Intimacy, Deep End and Premium. Thirty questions in each.

Swipe for the next question

No rules, no scores. Open a deck, read the card, answer. The app remembers where you stopped in every deck.

Question of the Day widget

A new question every day in the app, in a Home Screen widget and in a reminder at the time you choose. Tap More on the widget to get the next one without opening the app.

Your own decks

Write your own questions, pick a color, and your deck sits right next to the built-in ones. You can play it in party mode too.

Share a question

Turn any question into a card image for stories or a group chat. No sign-up, no ads, and it works offline.

What it costs

The app is free, with no ads and no subscription. Nine decks, party mode, your own decks and the widget are free. The five premium decks (Long-Term Love, Work, Negotiation, Deep End and Premium) unlock with a single one-time purchase of $0.99, forever. The App Store shows the price in your local currency.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play conversation cards?

Pick a deck that fits the moment and take turns drawing cards: one person reads the question, then everyone answers or just the person whose turn it is. There are no rules or points; the conversation is the point. Any card can be skipped with a swipe.

How does party mode work?

Add 2 to 12 player names and choose a deck. The app shows whose turn it is, starts the timer if you turned it on, and gives a random dare when someone skips or runs out of time. You can turn dares off. At the end you get the results: answers and dares for each player.

Which decks are free?

Nine decks are free: Getting to Know, First Date, Friends, Parents & Kids, Road Trip, Year in Review, Me in 5 Years, Tarot and Intimacy. Long-Term Love, Work, Negotiation, Deep End and Premium unlock with one purchase.

Is there a subscription or ads?

No. The premium decks are a one-time purchase that stays yours forever and restores on all your devices with the same Apple ID. There are no ads and no account to create.

Does it work offline?

Yes. All questions are stored on the device, so the cards work on a plane, on a road trip or at a cabin with no signal.

Can I add my own questions?

Yes. Create your own deck, add questions and pick a color. It appears next to the built-in decks and works in party mode.

What languages and devices does Honestly support?

iPhone and iPad, in English and Russian. There is a Question of the Day widget for the Home Screen.
