Frequently asked questions
How do I play with the question cards?
Pick a set that fits the moment and draw cards in turn: one person reads the question, then everyone answers, or just the person whose turn it is. There are no rules or points; the conversation is what matters. Swipe to skip any question.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. Turn on party mode in the menu and add the players’ names; the app will show whose turn it is above each card. Good sets for a group are “Friends”, “Road trip”, “Year in review” and “Me in 5 years”.
Which sets are free?
Nine sets are free: “Getting to know you”, “First date”, “Friends”, “Parents and kids”, “Road trip”, “Year in review”, “Me in 5 years”, “Tarot” and “Sex”. “Long-term couple”, “Work”, “Negotiations”, “Depth” and “Premium” are unlocked with a single purchase.
Is there a subscription or ads?
No. The paid sets are a one-time purchase of $0.99 (price may vary by country) and stay yours for good. There are no ads and no sign-up.
I bought the sets but they are locked on a new device. What do I do?
Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the purchase, then open the menu and tap “Restore purchases”. The same button is on the purchase screen. You will not be charged again.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. All questions are stored on the device, so cards open on the road, on a plane or anywhere without a connection. Only buying or restoring a purchase needs the internet.
Can I add my own questions?
Yes. Create your own set, add questions and pick a colour; it will appear next to the built-in sets. Your sets are stored only on this device and are not synced between devices.
How do I turn the question of the day on or off?
Open the menu and use the “Question of the day” switch, where you can also choose the time. If the reminder does not arrive, check that notifications for Chestno are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap “Edit” → “Add Widget” and choose Chestno. The widget shows the question of the day; you can pick a set for it and tap “More” for another question.
How do I reset progress or delete my data?
Progress in all sets is reset from the menu, and your own sets are deleted in their editor. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. We keep no data about you on any server.
