Lamina – Large Print Sheets · iOS 17+ · iPadOS 17+
Large print phone list, fridge sheet and pill chart for Mom and Dad
Lamina is for grown-up children who make paper sheets for an elderly parent: a phone list with faces and big numbers, a sheet for the paramedics, a weekly medication chart. You make them on iPhone or iPad, print, laminate and hang them up, and Lamina tells you when a sheet is out of date.

Why the paper by Mom's phone keeps going wrong
- The numbers live on a sticky note in three different handwritings. Two of them changed years ago, and nobody remembers which.
- The contact list on her phone is tiny, the screen goes dark, and when she is flustered she cannot find "Lena". A sheet with faces and big digits works every time.
- When paramedics arrive, they ask about allergies, medicines and who to call. Your parent may be too shaken to answer, and you may be three hours away.
- You explained video calls over the phone three times. Without the steps written down in front of her, they are gone by Sunday.
How Lamina keeps the sheets readable and up to date
Phone book with faces, free
Pick people from your Contacts, add a plain label like "Daughter Lena, mobile" and a photo from Contacts or your own. The sheet can also show your local emergency number.
Emergency sheet for the fridge
Name, date of birth, blood type, address, allergies, medicines, important notes, doctor and phone, insurance and who to call first, under a red header that is easy to spot.
Weekly medication chart
One row per medicine with dose and a note, seven days across and boxes to tick for morning, midday, evening and night. On iOS 26 the list can be imported from the Medications section of Apple Health.
"How to video call me" card
Numbered steps with pictures, with your name and photo in the text. The steps are editable, so you can match them to the app your parent actually uses.
Print the way your parent reads
Three text sizes: large 18 pt, very large 22 pt and low vision 27 pt. A4 or US Letter. The sheet language is set separately from the app, in any of 10 languages. Export a PDF, print over AirPrint or make a full-screen picture for an iPad by the phone.
Knows when to reprint
Lamina compares the numbers in your Contacts with the ones you printed and tells you, for example, that Lena's number has changed. A local reminder every 3, 6 or 12 months asks you to check the sheets.
Free and Lamina Pro
Free: profiles for every parent and the full phone book sheet with photos, PDF, printing and the picture mode, plus the review reminder. Lamina Pro is a one-time purchase of $2.99, not a subscription. It unlocks printing and export of the emergency fridge sheet, the weekly medication chart, the video call card and the builder for your own sheets. You can fill in and preview the Pro sheets before buying. No account, no ads.

How do I make a large print phone list for an elderly parent?
Keep it to the 8 to 12 people and services your parent actually calls, give each one a plain label such as "Daughter, mobile", and use at least 18 pt text with dark print on a light background. Lamina builds this sheet from your Contacts with photos of faces, in three large text sizes, and it is free.
What font size is best for elderly people?
The UK charity RNIB defines large print as 16 pt or bigger, and most large print requests are around 18 to 20 pt. Lamina offers 18 pt, 22 pt and 27 pt for low vision. Print a test page and check it from where your parent will actually read it.
What should be on an emergency sheet for the fridge?
Full name and date of birth, address, allergies, current medicines, important conditions, doctor and phone number, insurance details and two or three people to call. Programs like File of Life and Vial of Life put this sheet on or in the fridge because responders know to look there.
Does my parent need to install the app?
No. Lamina is for you. Your parent gets paper: you print the sheets, laminate them if you like and put them by the phone or on the fridge. If your parent has an iPad, you can also show a sheet as a full-screen picture.
How does Lamina know a phone number has changed?
When you print, Lamina remembers the numbers on the sheet. Later it compares them with your Contacts and marks the sheet if, say, your sister's number is different now. This needs full access to Contacts; if you only pick contacts one by one, change detection is not available.
Can the sheet be in a different language from my phone?
Yes. Each parent profile has its own sheet language, independent of the app language. Lamina supports English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, Ukrainian and Turkish.
Is Lamina a subscription?
No. The phone book is free. Lamina Pro is a single $2.99 purchase that unlocks the emergency sheet, the medication chart, the video call card and the sheet builder.
Where is my parent's information stored?
Only on your iPhone or iPad. Lamina has no account and no server, and it does not use analytics. Contacts, photos and Health data are read on the device only to fill in a sheet.
Guides and articles
What to put on an emergency information sheet for the fridge
An emergency sheet on the fridge should list your parent's full name, date of birth, address, allergies, current medicines, important conditions, doctor, insurance and two or three people to call. Keep it to one page, in large print, and update it whenever a medicine or a phone number changes.

A good medication chart lists each medicine on its own row with the dose and a short note, then gives seven days of tick boxes for morning, midday, evening and night. Print it large, keep it next to the pills, and redo it every time the doctor changes something.

Pick one app your family already uses, set the device up yourself, write the steps on a large-print card with numbers and pictures, and rehearse a short call together. Agree on an ordinary phone number to fall back on when the video does not work.
