iSimpleLoop Support

iSimpleLoop is a free loop station for iPhone and iPad that works fully offline. Here are answers to the most common questions.

Frequently asked questions

Does it compensate for audio latency?

Yes. Takes are shifted so they land where you played them. The settings screen shows the input, output and round-trip latency the app measures for your current audio setup.

Can I export my loops to a DAW?

Yes. You can export 24-bit WAV, M4A (AAC) and MIDI. The MIDI file has a track per instrument, with the pads on channel 10, so you can rebuild the parts in GarageBand, Logic or another DAW.

Does it work with an audio interface, MIDI keyboard or foot pedal?

USB audio interfaces are supported, and you can pick the input and channel to record. MIDI keyboards over USB and Bluetooth play the synth, and foot controllers can be mapped with MIDI Learn to play, record and stop.

Do I need an internet connection or an account?

No. Everything runs on the device, and nothing is sent to a cloud. You need no account, and the app works offline.

My takes land slightly late. What can I do?

The app compensates for the latency it measures, but Bluetooth headphones and speakers add delay it cannot fully hide. Use wired headphones, a USB interface or the built-in speaker, and check the round-trip value in Settings: the lower it is, the tighter the timing.

Where are my projects stored?

On the device only, in the app's own folder. You can see it in the Files app under On My iPhone (or On My iPad) › iSimpleLoop. Projects are saved automatically as you work.

How do I export a song and where does the file go?

Open the export panel, choose WAV, M4A or MIDI, and the system Share menu appears. From there you can save to Files, send via AirDrop or Mail, or open the file in another app.

How do I import my own audio?

On the song screen or the pads screen, choose import and pick a WAV, MP3 or M4A file. It is converted into the track, the pad or your sound library.

How do I delete my data?

Delete projects from the project list and sounds from the library. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Nothing is kept on any server, so there is nothing else to delete.
